Privacy Policy

The short version

InsightQ processes your X/Twitter bookmarks so you can act on them instead of hoarding them. We never sell your data. We never share it with advertisers. We use it only to provide the service you signed up for.

What we collect

  • Email address — when you join the waitlist or create an account.
  • X bookmark content — tweet text, author, media URLs, and metadata for bookmarks you share to InsightQ. We only process bookmarks you explicitly send us.
  • Device tokens — if you enable push notifications, we store your device token to deliver morning digests and alerts.
  • Basic usage analytics — pages visited, features used, error logs. No third-party trackers.
  • Payment information — processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

How we use AI to process your bookmarks

When you share a bookmark to InsightQ, it goes through a two-pass AI pipeline:

  1. Triage pass — a lightweight model quickly scores relevance and categorizes the bookmark.
  2. Extraction pass — a more capable model extracts key takeaways, action items, and assigns a priority score.

All processing happens server-side. Your bookmark content is sent to third-party AI providers (OpenAI and/or OpenRouter) for processing. These providers do not use your data to train their models when accessed through their API (per their data processing terms). We do not use your data to train any models ourselves.

Where we store your data

Your bookmarks, extracted insights, and account data are stored in a PostgreSQL database on servers we control. Per-bookmark artifacts (raw content, extraction reports) are stored as structured files on the same infrastructure. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

Third-party services

We use a small number of trusted services:

  • Stripe — payment processing. Stripe handles all billing data under their own privacy policy.
  • N8N + Smartlead — waitlist form submissions. Email addresses collected during the waitlist phase are stored in our database and forwarded to our email delivery service for nurture communications.
  • Expo Push — mobile push notification delivery.
  • OpenAI / OpenRouter — AI processing of bookmark content. Data is sent via API and is not used for model training.

Data retention

Your bookmarks and processed insights are stored for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your data is permanently removed within 30 days. Waitlist email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or we launch (whichever comes first).

Your rights

You can:

  • Export your data — download all your bookmarks and insights in a standard format at any time.
  • Delete your account — remove all your data permanently. Two taps in the app.
  • Opt out of AI processing — pause the pipeline. Your bookmarks will be stored but not analyzed until you re-enable processing.
  • Access your data — request a full copy of everything we have about you.
  • Correct your data — update or fix any personal information.
  • Port your data — receive your data in a machine-readable format to take elsewhere.

We never sell your data

Period. No exceptions. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or bookmark content to anyone. Our business model is a subscription — you pay us for the product, not the other way around.

Cookies

We use minimal cookies — only what is needed for authentication (session tokens). No tracking cookies. No advertising cookies. No third-party analytics cookies. That is it.

GDPR and CCPA

If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA respectively:

  • Right to access all personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to have your data deleted (right to be forgotten).
  • Right to data portability — export in a machine-readable format.
  • Right to restrict or object to processing.
  • Right to not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights (CCPA).

To exercise any of these rights, email us. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notification before the changes take effect. Minor wording updates will be reflected by updating the date at the top.
